Nourishing Minds, Brightening Summers: KCEOC's Summer Food Service Program

KCEOC’s Summer Food Service Program, a USDA-sponsored initiative, is dedicated to bridging the nutritional gap that at-risk children face during the summer months when access to school lunches and meals is limited.

We proudly serve feeding sites in Knox, Laurel, and Harlan Counties, providing over 55,000 nutritious and freshly prepared meals every summer. These meals are free for all children aged 18 years old and younger and must be enjoyed on-site, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

KCEOC’s Summer Food Service Program is a USDA sponsored program designed to fill the nutrition gap at-risk children face in the summer months when they do not have access to school lunches/meals. KCEOC serves feeding sites in Knox, Laurel, and Harlan Counties. Typically over 55,000 meals are served each summer. The meals served are nutritious, made fresh every day, and free to all children aged 18 years old and younger. Meals must be consumed onsite and will be provided on a first come first served basis.
