Embodying our nation’s spirit of hope, America’s Community Action Agencies are a robust state and local force – reaching children and families in 99% of our nation’s counties with life-changing services, from early childhood education to job training services for seniors, and providing growth for the entire community with economic development. Established in 1964, the Community Action Network connects individuals and families to approaches that help them succeed, including job retraining for adults and stable and affordable housing for families. With over 1,000 organizations, the Community Action Network works to address the causes and conditions of poverty and touches millions of families every year.

Making Waves, One Splash at a Time
The KCEOC Aquatic Club promotes fitness, confidence, and connection through swimming and water safety programs for all ages. From recreational swimmers to families looking for a healthy, active outlet, the club encourages skill-building, teamwork, and lifelong wellness in a fun, inclusive environment. Senior Centers serve as a “focal point” for all the programs available to older adults within Knox county.
Filling the nutrition gap at-risk children face in summer months when they do not have access to school lunches/meals.
The Weatherization Assistance Program provides a long term solution to help families lower energy waste and cost.
The Kentucky LIHEAP program helps approximately 150,000 Kentucky families pay their heating bills each winter.
This program is designed to help low-income households to secure a place to live through assistance with security and utility deposits along with monthly utility & rental assistance.
Ryan’s Place serves as a dedicated crisis center providing essential support and shelter to homeless youth aged 18-24 who are facing the challenges of homelessness.
The KCEOC Emergency Support Center provides temporary emergency shelter to women, men with families, and women with children who fall under the McKinney Act guidelines for homeless assistance.
Jobsight services adults looking for work, workers of any age who have been dislocated from their jobs through closings, layoffs, and economically disadvantaged young people who need help to get education and training.
Our Child Development program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, & other services to enrolled children and families.
