Barbourville mayor, David Thompson, recently signed a proclamation claiming October 30th as Weatherization Day in Barbourville. Weatherization is the practice of protecting a building and its interior from the elements, particularly from sunlight, precipitation, and wind, and of modifying a building to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy efficiency.
KCEOC Community Action Partnership assists eligible households in reducing their energy cost by providing weatherizing maintenance to their homes. Weatherizing includes, but is not limited to services such as weather stripping, insulating, checking heating systems and sources of air infiltration, heating systems diagnostics, and repairing doors. Priority is given to elderly and disabled persons households. KCEOC also accepts and processes applications from housebound applicants.
If you would like to have your home weatherized and to see if you qualify for KCEOC’s Weatherization Program please call Angie May at (606) 546-3152.
