On Friday, May 29th, the KCEOC KY Career Center held a graduation celebration honoring this year's In-School Youth Program students.

KCEOC Career Advisor, Keith Greene, spoke with the students about their experience throughout the program. Student shared stories about their work assignments and offered their perspective on what they had gained by being enrolled in this year’s program. The In-School Youth students worked for local businesses for 10 hours a week throughout the school year, and will transition to working 40 hours in June. The group of 22 students worked approximately 2,200 hours during this past school year.

A participant from last year’s program, Lakin Dillingham, also attended the celebration. She shared her experience with the program and offered insight on what to expect after high school. She spoke on how the In-School Youth Program helped prepare her for college, and gaining a job through her university’s student-work program.

The In-School Youth Program offers local high school seniors an opportunity to gain valuable work experience and work readiness. The program also offers students assistance with resumes, job applications, FAFSA, and college applications.
